Police in Warrington have arrested a drug dealer, Michael Wickham, aged 29, who has been sentenced to five and a half years in jail. Wickham was apprehended on June 11 in Victoria Park after police suspected him of dealing crack cocaine and heroin.
The arrest was triggered by Wickham's use of his mobile phone to send 'flare' messages to potential customers in the area, advertising the latest batches of drugs available. These messages helped the police identify his phone as being linked to illegal drug activities.
On July 11, at Chester Crown Court, Wickham was charged with two counts of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs—crack cocaine and heroin. The police hope this conviction serves as a warning to others involved in similar activities.
Detective Constable Tom Dale commented on the impact of illegal drugs and reiterated the commitment of law enforcement to curb drug-related activities in communities. He encouraged the public to come forward with any information on suspected drug-related activities.
