An individual riding an e-bike assaulted a police vehicle by throwing a brick at it before a subsequent collision left a child injured.

The incident, which involved a three-year-old child sustaining a head injury, occurred on Taurus Street in Oldham shortly after 6:25 p.m. yesterday, Tuesday.

The suspect, identified by police as having thrown a brick on Ripponden Road minutes prior, was operating a Surron electric bike when the event unfolded.

Moments later, the e-bike collided with the young boy, causing him to be thrown into the air and make contact with a stationary vehicle. The rider then fled, leaving the boy injured.

The affected child was transported to a hospital and is now recovering at home, according to Greater Manchester Police.
