Longsight Murder Case Trial Update

A man named Tarik Hussein, aged 27, has pleaded not guilty in the murder case of 56-year-old Esmaeil Tofigh. The plea was submitted via videolink at Manchester Crown Court on the morning of April 28.

The incident took place on February 5, when emergency services were called to a property on Plymouth Grove in Longsight around 5:20 am. Upon arrival, Mr. Tofigh was pronounced dead at the scene.

The court has scheduled the trial to commence on July 31, following a case management hearing set for June 23. Meanwhile, Mr. Hussein, a resident of Plymouth Grove, remains in custody awaiting the next court date.
