A drugs gang that funded their 'lavish lifestyles' by flooding Manchester's streets with class A drugs has been taken down. Five men have been jailed for their roles in this multi-million pound operation.
The network, led by brothers Mohammed and Ebrahim Sadigh, distributed an estimated £10 million of illegal drugs before being caught in December 2020.
At Manchester Crown Court, Mohammed Sadigh, 30; Ebrahim Sadigh, 22; Hamza Azouz, 31; Illyas Abudaber, 23; and Hamam Alhamruni, 24, were sentenced to a total of over 40 years for conspiracy to supply cocaine, MDMA, cannabis, and ketamine.
The gang's activities were first uncovered following a crash on Wilmslow Road, Rusholme, in April 2017, when police found drugs and phones linked to the operation. Subsequent raids in Moss Side uncovered cash, drugs, and equipment tied to the crimes.
Police also intercepted a stolen black Audi in Salford with more drugs inside, further solidifying evidence against the gang members.
Despite the crimes primarily occurring in Manchester, it's believed that the network's reach extended further. The investigation revealed a total of over £38,000 in cash and approximately £57,000 in drugs were recovered.
This extensive investigation was led by GMP's Serious Crime Division, highlighting the impact that these individuals had on the Manchester community through their illegal activities.
