Pub Manager's Theft and Gambling Spree

A pub manager, Jordan Drysdale, aged 31, was caught red-handed stealing over £7,000 from the New Year’s Eve receipts at the Metropolitan pub located in West Didsbury. The incident was captured on CCTV, showing Drysdale stuffing cash into his pockets.

The following day, Drysdale did not show up for his shift, prompting suspicion from the general manager, who initiated a thorough review of the staff. The CCTV footage revealed Drysdale, from Longsight, as the culprit who took the money from the safe.

On January 9, Drysdale was arrested and admitted to spending all the stolen money, fueled by his gambling addiction. Court proceedings at Manchester Crown Court disclosed that between December 31, 2022, and January 1, 2023, he took the money, intending to hide it in a 'second safe,' a claim he never acted upon.

Despite his actions, Drysdale has shown remorse. The court handed him a suspended sentence and imposed rehabilitation measures to assist him in overcoming his addictions.
